[TV] NBC Casts “Rosemary’s Baby” Pregnant Lead!

Star Trek, Avatar and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl star Zoe Saldana, pictured, has been tapped to star in NBC’s four-hour “Rosemary’s Baby” miniseries, reports Variety.

She will play Rosemary, the iconic young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband, moves into a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.

NBC announced the “Rosemary’s Baby” mini in December, with Lionsgate TV attached to produce. Project is based on Ira Levin’s 1967 horror novel and is being penned by Scott Abbott and James Wong.

Dunno why they bother trying to remake a near perfect movie. It’s inevitably going to be disappointing.

Nothing will ever come close to Polanki’s masterpiece, but at least they chose a great actress.

Have so much love for the original. Probably one of the best films of all time. I Don’t agree with a television remake but I love Zoe Saldana. I think she’s a great actress. For her, I’ll give this miniseries a chance. And who knows it could be decent

I don’t think this is going to work even as mini series
Even the Scott bros – Coma remake didn’t do well and to try and do a timeless classic like Rosemary’s Baby definetly not going to translate

If James Wong is involved then I’m all for it! He has done us horror fans good with Final Destination 1/3 and American Horror Story. Count me in!
