Trailer For Indie Hitcher Horror ‘The Poisoning’ Hits The Web

I think hitchhiker horror is an underexplored subgenre of horror. Obviously you’ve got gems here and there like The Hitcher (I guess the beginning of Texas Chainsaw counts as well), but I could deal with seeing more of it onscreen. This trailer for writer/director Zachary Eglinton‘s new film The Poisoning indicates that there might be a good amount of hobo horrors to come. It also seems as though it has some fleshy, gory bits as well.

In the film, “three men road trip across America, where jealousy, paranoia and a menacing hitchhiker kick off a terrifying hell ride that spins insanely out of control. The Poisoning stars Matt Mercer (Madison County, Contracted), Brandon Walz (who also co-wrote the film), Kalan Ray and Joanna Sotomura (Madison County).

You can go here to watch the whole film via Verizon Fios and Vimeo. It hits iTunes and Amazon later this month.

$85 an hour! Seriously I don’t know why more people haven’t tried this, I work two shifts, 2 hours in the day and 2 in the evening…And what’s awesome is I’m working from home so I get more time with my kids. Heres where I went…

I honestly hate the set up. Why do so many movies have plots where people who don’t like one another, all go out together???? Either that, or they bring someone who doesn’t get along with the rest of the group! Being fair though, there are movies that did this which turned out to be pretty good (Judgement Night, Black Rock, etc.); so I’ll give this one a chance.

I appreciate you giving the flick a try, Tbaio. Hopefully our setup will be a little more acceptable than what you’re expecting!

I’m all about the indies. So bring it on. Reminds me of a road trip I took with three fellas to Aspen once. Minus the heroin addled psycho hitchhiker, of course.

Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I’m talking about a little place called Aspen…

Well, I hope you enjoy the flick! I appreciate the support!
