With Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to the Planet of the Apes prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes, already in post for release this summer, Fox is locking in a target release for the third film.

Fox tells Bloody Disgusting that the currently untitled third film will release on July 29, 2016.

Cloverfield and Let Me In‘s Matt Reeves, who directed Dawn, will return to the helm.

In the sequel, in theaters July 11, “A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
