‘Gravity’ Nominated For Best Original Score

Alfonso Cuarón’s sci-fi thriller Gravity has been nominated for Best Original Score in this year’s Oscars. If you haven’t seen the movie, the music, which was composed by Steven Price, was absolutely thrilling and beautifully crafted, adding a whole level of emotion and excitement to an already brilliant film. Below you can hear one of my favorite tracks, “Shenzou”, which was the music that played during the re-entry scene.

Gravity was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress (Sandra Bullock), Cinematography, Directing, Film Editing, Production Design, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Visual Effects, for a whopping 10 nominations.

By far the best musical piece of 2013. Steven Price nailed it. It feels complex and if you listen the soundtrack on its own, it is tense yet subtle with its narrative through the strings and the vocals. Simply mesmerizing. I hope Gravity wins hands down all the awards. Music, cinematography, effects, direction!!!! and the performance of Bullock are more than impressive and thoughtful
