I haven’t yet seen Stephen Sommers’ (The Mummy, Van Helsing) adaptation of Dean Koontz’s book Odd Thomas even though it’s on DirecTV. I know Brad didn’t like it, but I’m still sort of curious. In the meantime, I have this new still to keep me sated and fill the hole in my heart.
The film stars Anton Yelchin, Addison Timlin, Willem Dafoe, Nico Tortorella, Patton Oswalt, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, “The story centers on a short-order cook named Odd Thomas (Yelchin) who can commune with the dead, a secret only his girlfriend (Timlin) and the local police (Dafoe) chief know. The young man can also spot malevolent forces called bodachs, who feed on pain and portent imminent death. When Odd sees them in spades surrounding a stranger, he finds himself in a race against time to avert a catastrophe.“
