As much as I think the movie looks like fun, I’m not digging any of the promotional art for The Weinstein Company’s Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, in theaters February 7. The latest piece looks like a tossed together Photoshop job from 2001. They clearly think that this “cut and paste” look appeals to the younger crowd, but all I see is a very unappealing one-sheet that had me reacting like a vampire in daylight. HISSSSSS!
In the film, “Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human/vampire, guardians of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discretely within our world. Her legacy is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. This is her story.”
Based on the New York Times bestselling book series by Richelle Mead, Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters stars Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky, Gabriel Byrne, Sarah Hyland, Joely Richardson, Cameron Monaghan, Sami Gayle, Claire Foy and Ashley Charles. Mark Waters is directing the project.
