Composer John Cacavas, who composed many episodes of TV’s Kojak as well as the 1972 British/Spanish horror film Horror Express (which starred Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing), has passed away at age 83 after a lengthy illness. Cacavas also composed 1973’s The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (again starring Lee and Cushing) and Blade as well as several disaster films throughout the years. He was an award-nominated composer.
He is survived by his wife, three children, and three grandchildren. Rest in peace, Mr. Cacavas. We thank you for your work.
