THR writes that Spider-Man 2 star Topher Grace, pictured above, will star in Home, a supernatural thriller that Blumhouse have come aboard to produce. Universal will distribute the picture per its first look deal with Blumhouse.
Additionally, The Maze Runner and The East‘s Patricia Clarkson, below, is in negotiations to co-star in the project, which will be directed by Dennis Iliadis, best known as the helmer behind the 2009 remake of The Last House on the Left. He also directed last year’s criminally underrated Plus One.
Adam Alleca wrote the script, which “centers on a man (Grace), recently released from a mental institute, who inherits a mansion after his parents die. After a series of disturbing events, he comes to believe it is haunted.” An older story on Bloody Disgusting reveals that the man “struggles to determine whether he’s having a nervous breakdown or his father is haunting him…“
The project was initially set up with Wes Craven’s Craven/Maddalena Films and even had Brittany Snow attached to star at one point.
