I just got sent a press release for a band that goes by the name stOrk. What caught my attention was that they were described as ‘Garbage meets Meshuggah‘ as well as the fact that the band features Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert), Shane Gibson (Korn, Jonathan Davis), Kelly LeMieux (Goldfinger, Buckcherry), and VK Lynne (Vita Nova, Eve’s Apple). The band is putting their final touches on their sophomore album Broken Pieces, which is follows their 2010 instrumental self-titled album. The new album was mixed by Dan Monte (Metallica) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura).
I checked out the track “Overflow” and wasn’t exactly impressed but their track “Chainsaw Serenade” has a bit more bite to it. You can listen to them both below.
