This Lengthy New CG Trailer For ‘The Elder Scrolls Online’ May Blow Your Mind

ESO

I never invest any real merit into CG trailers. They’re pretty and often fun to watch, but they can never reflect the quality of the game they’re advertising as well as actual gameplay footage can. With that said, while this new trailer for the upcoming fantasy — and sadly, subscription-based — MMO The Elder Scrolls Online shows nary a second of in-game footage, it is very fun to watch. Ridiculously fun, even.

While we won’t experience anything quite as awesome as the above video, the game itself has a lot of promise. Bethesda’s poor decision to go with the archaic subscription fee model is unfortunate, but then again, I suppose they had to find a way to pay for all that top-tier voice talent. John Cleese, Bill Nighy, Kate Beckinsale, Alfred Molina, Michael Gambon, Malcom McDowell and Peter Stormare all have starring roles on it.

The Elder Scrolls Online arrives on PC on April 4th, with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions following in June.
