It seems as if Techland is taking a break to tinker with their Dead Island franchise, seeing where else they can go with it. Their first experiment, Dead Island: Epidemic, is the very first “ZOMBA” (Zombie Online Multiplayer Battle Arena), and so far I’m digging its colorful, cartoonish art style.
The free-to-play PC game is about to enter a closed beta. If you’re interested in teaming up with a few friends to take out hordes of the undead, as well as a few miscellaneous mutations, you can sign up for the beta at the newly re-launched www.playdie.net. Those who decide to jump in will be rewarded with exclusive in-game items, all of which can be carried over when it officially launches. Fresh batch of screenshots after the jump.
