See Incredible 3-D Imagery Without 3-D Glasses!!

Ready to have your mind blown?

Wikitree caught wind of some new animated gifs floating through social networking services that are a literal game-changer.

The below images demonstrate how the 3D effect can be achieved without having to use those clunky 3D glasses. Explains the site, simply by drawing a couple of lines through what is a flat screen, one can achieve the illusion of viewing a movie (or at least a short clip) in 3D.

While it’s not perfect, it’s definitely something that should be explored more by studios and tech experts. I think the future is closer (and easier to achieve) than we think…

  • Seal_Clubber

    That’s a cool effect.

  • Blood-Sicles

Pretty neat little effect. I bet it would look really cool on a big screen.

  • Sick_skwerl

    That’s pretty bad ass

  • djblack1313

as much as i hate 3D that does look pretty cool!

  • Pink

As much as I LOVE 3d….this was kind of “cool” but watching movies with lines in`em….naaah!

Just get the glasses free TV`s out faster!

  • Darkness69

Great effect & great to see both Freddy and Jensen in one post hehe. You guys avoid Supernatural for no reason!

    • djblack1313

@Darkness69, exactly! i don’t know why this site is SUPERNATURAL-phobic.

      • ThunderDragoon

        Totally in agreement.

These aren’t any more 3d than the normal footage that they are made from. That’s kind of what is ridiculous about 3d movies, movies already have depth.

3d is not nor ever was the future of tv, movies, gaming, anything. james cameron’s gimmick has cost companies billions on double down on a dead end.

Not bad, and if it’s a step in the direction of getting rid of 3D glasses, then I’m all for it. It might sound nitpicky to some, but I the common complaint I always see for 3D is the glasses, because people can’t stand them.

Also, I used to be in a crowd that hated all things 3D, but I mellowed on that over the years. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not a fan of 3D, but I don’t hate 3D anymore. I just can’t stand gimmicky 3D movies that use 3D to compensate for a shitty story, screenplay, and/or acting (Final Destination 4, Saw 7, Resident Evil: Retribution, etc.)
