Hot off starring in Prisoners, Dylan Minnette – who also starred in Let Me In – has landed the co-lead opposite Jack Black in Sony’s adaptation of R.L. Stine’s classic book series “Goosebumps,” reports Variety.

Odeya Rush also stars in the family project with Rob Letterman directing.

The story is loosely based on the series and follows Minnette’s character who moves from New York City to the small town of Greendale, Maryland, where his secretive new neighbor turns out to be veteran young adult horror author R.L. Stine (Black). When all the many demons of Stine’s mind are set free by Slappy, a demonic ventriloquist’s dummy, it’s up to Minnette’s character and Stine’s niece Hannah to put all the evil genies back in the bottle.

Darren Lemke and Mike White wrote the script.

Oh yeah, he’s been in a couple of The Haunting Hour episodes. It’s cool that they’re casting him in another R.L. Stine project.

Used to love the Goosebumps show and books when I was little. I actually wouldn’t mind reading a few of the old ones again.
