Variety broke the new Wednesday night that, after fighting zombies in World War Z, James Badge Dale may be ready to battle ghosts in Legendary Entertainment’s Spectral. The actor is currently in talks to star in the supernatural thriller directed by Nic Matthieu.
Described as a supernatural Black Hawk Down, Spectral was recently re-written by scribe Jayson Rothwell for release through Universal Pictures.
As previously reported, the premise of the project is centered on a modern-day, militaristic and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story, with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.
