One of the most under-utilized actresses in the “American Horror Story” franchise is Lily Rabe, pictured, whom is now taking on two new genre projects in 2014.
According to THR, Rabe has signed on to topline The Veil, the Universal Pictures’ thriller being directed by Phil Joanou. The Mist‘s Thomas Jane and The Eye‘s Jessica Alba are already on board the microbudget horror movie.
“Veil‘s story revolves around members of a religious cult known as Heaven’s Veil who take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a 5-year-old girl, who returns to the compound with a documentary crew as an adult. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.” Rabe will play the adult survivor opposite Alba’s doc filmmaker.
Rabe is also taking on aliens on the small screen as Deadline writes that Rabe has been tapped as the lead in ABC drama pilot “The Visitors,” from Amblin TV.
Penned by Soo Hugh, “The Visitors” chronicles the race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world.” Rabe will play Claire Bennigan, an FBI agent and single mother who is torn between work and home life.
