Sure, Telltale’s fantastic series is already available on iOS and Android, but if you’d like even more The Walking Dead when you’re on the go, developer Next Games has you covered. AMC recently announced they’ve enlisted the Finnish studio to develop a mobile game based on the hit television series that will release alongside its fifth season, slated to premiere this October.
“We chose to team up with Next Games because of their outstanding creative and technical talent, as well as a willingness to re-imagine the unique and compelling world of ‘The Walking Dead,’ which has built a significant and passionate global fan community,” AMC president Charlie Collier said in the announcement.
Not much else is known about the title, but what we know of Next Games is that it was formed of Rovio (Angry Birds) devs with the goal of “focused on crafting majestic narrative-driven games with engaging free-to-play mechanics.”
Telltale’s set the bar pretty high, and so far other attempts to adapt the series have failed miserably. I’m always open to more Walking Dead, so I’m very much looking forward to hearing more from this.
