I don’t know how Sam Westphalen does it, but he keeps surprising me with his acoustic fingerstyle covers of metal tunes. Today he released a cover of Tool‘s “The Pot”, which is one of my favorite tracks from the band’s most recent release, 10,000 Days. It’s pretty incredible, especially when he plays Maynard’s vocals and also the guitar intro at the same time. The two conflicting melodies seem like they’d be truly difficult to perform simultaneously and Westphalen knocks it out with what looks like greatest of ease.
Head on below to check it out.
