The second (and final) part of the prologue for the newly released dark fantasy RPG Dark Souls II picks off where the first left off. There are no melting wax people in this one, though it still has its moments. If you’re planning on taking the plunge into this unforgiving series, leave your humanity at home, because this game will tear you up.
I called Dark Souls II a “masterpiece” in my review. It’s “beautiful, horrifying, unforgiving, and is easily one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had during my gaming career.”
Dark Souls II is available now on Xbox 360 and PS3. It arrives on PC on April 25.
