The Maligned ‘Diablo III’ Auction House Is No More

DiabloIII

Rejoice, for the much-maligned Diablo III auction house is officially no more. Blizzard has made good on their promise to remove the controversial feature ahead of the release of Reaper of Souls, the game’s first single-player expansion.

If you’re worried about any epic loot you may have in there, Blizzard has provided a helpful FAQ that should answer your questions regarding the transition. If you have anything pending, you may want to get it taken care of quickly.

“All active auctions will expire as normal following the shutdown of the gold and real-money auction houses on Tuesday, March 18. Once the shutdown is complete, items will either be delivered to the current highest bidder or returned to the seller, appearing in each player’s Completed tab. Unclaimed gold will also appear in the Completed tab. Players will be able to claim gold and items and from this tab until June 24, 2014.”

Now that the auction is house has finally been shuttered and the loot system upgraded, we can all sit back and enjoy the grim new expansion when it arrives on PC and Mac on March 25.
