Twisted Music Video Of The Week Vol. 127: Billy Idol “Shock To The System”

Update: Thank you to the awesome NixEclips for the suggestion!

Technology is having more and more of an impact on how we perceive and capture the world around us. We see it in the Middle East with the multitude of revolutions. We see it being used to try and find missing planes (seriously Courtney Love?). We see it capture abuse and misconduct from authority figures. And that’s the theme of this week’s Twisted Music Video Of The Week: Billy Idol‘s award nominated “Shock To The System”, which comes from his 1993 album Cyberpunk.

The video, directed by Brett Leonard, shows Idol filming a vicious beating when he himself is attacked by policemen who shatter his camcorder. The pieces then force their way into Idol’s body, creating a cyborg that is reminiscent of Tetsuo: Iron Man. I’ll leave the rest for you to see and enjoy!

This video was actually recommended by a BD user but I can’t find their name. If you recommended it, let me know in the comments so I can properly thank you!
