[TV] “Rosemary’s Baby’ Promotion Poster, Trailer Births Fear!

rosemarys-baby-banner

Fear is born on the official poster for NBC’s “Rosemary’s Baby” four-hour miniseries, an adaptation of the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin. Zoe Saldana plays the new Rosemary.

Red Lights‘ Carole Bouquet, Doghouse‘s Christina Cole and Jason Isaacs also star in the series directed by Agnieska Holland and produced by Lionsgate TV.

It centers on Rosemary Woodhouse (Zoe Saldana), a young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband Guy (Patrick J. Adams), moves into a Paris apartment that has a dark past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.

    Trailer? I’m lost

I wish they would stop trying to remake great movies. They never live up to the original.

I sound like I’m 80 here, but can we not? Okay so maybe I might be alone on the fact that Rosemary’s Baby was a fantastic movie up to the last 10 minutes (well the ending I liked), because that’s when things got too talky, but this is just a fail waiting to happen.

I know I’m in the minority, but the original movie bored the shit out of me. No chance that an NBC mini-series will be any different, if not exponentially worse.

The ’68 original is one of my all-time favorite films from any genre, but I can understand the slow burn approach boring some. After all, Rosemary’s Baby didn’t grow on me until the 4th or 5th time.

With that said, I have very low expectations for this. Zoe Saldana is one of my favorite actresses, but horror mini-series/TV specials are shit 98% of the time. More recently I’m thinking about Bag Of Bones, and The Shining mini-series from the late 90′s. And I enjoy most of it, but The Langoliers finale features one of the worst (and embarrassing) displays of CGI I’ve ever seen.

      ^ This

But seriously, nothing about this looks appealing to me… I will admit that Zoe Saldana is pretty great (and smoking hot) and that poster looks kind of creepy, but maybe it’s just me…

“I will admit that Zoe Saldana is pretty great (and smoking hot)”

        A 1,000X yes!!!

And yeah, the poster is great (I just noticed the Eiffel Tower. lol), but I have a hard time building up any excitement for this, because it’s hard to ignore past failures.

      Rose Red wasn’t *that* bad.

True. Rose Red was passable, and I’ll say the same thing about Desperation with Ron Pearlman

Thank you for the comment on The Langoliers, the entire show would have been 100% better if we had just never seen the damn things.

Also, don’t forget Kingdom Hospital, if anyone even watched any of that.

    Weary sigh

I have no interest what so ever. First because the original sucked imo and second, I don’t like Zoe Saldana at all and third, it’s a TV series, not a movie meaning it’s just going to drag on to try and keep people interested. I’ll Pass!
