Since I broke the news exclusively here on Bloody Disgusting that Franck Khalfoun would be directing the new Amityville movie, I’ve been making a bunch of calls trying to confirm the news.
Not only have my sources confirmed that the director of Maniac and P2 will be getting behind the camera for the Blumhouse production, but I’m also being told that Jennifer Jason Leigh (pictured; Fast Times at Ridgemont High, “Weeds”) is starring!
Explains our regular tipster, Leigh will be playing Joan, a single mother raising three kids all on her own. The family move into the infamous “Amityville” house, only to learn that it has a very dark history.
It’s also looking as if the found-footage angle has been dropped from the film, to be distributed January 2, 2015 by TWC-Dimension.
