H.R. Giger Behind-The-Scenes Working On ‘Alien’ (Random Cool)

I’ve always been a fan of 1979′s Alien, the Ridley Scott-directed film that introduced the world to the terrifying yet strangely beautiful xenomorph. It’s a fantastic film that horrifies with layer after layer of thick, claustrophobic atmosphere, compounded by a wonderful score (courtesy of Jerry Goldsmith).

But none of that would’ve been possible without the art direction and creature design of artist H.R. Giger, whose vision crafted a villain that still terrifies and entrances audiences.

Below you can see the man himself on the set of the film as he works on some of the most iconic moments and props.
