[TV] “True Blood” Provides A Premiere Date and Teaser For the Final Season!

Well now we know the date we can start saying goodbye. HBO has announced that the final season of “True Blood” begins its ten-episode run on Sunday, June 22nd at 9PM.

I’m pretty sure the last episode I saw of the show was during Season 4 or 5. Is Deborah Ann Woll still on it? She’s reason enough for me to tune in and give it one last shot. Here’s hoping the end with the grace that they could not find in the past few years.

For what it’s worth, HBO president Michael Lombardo says it’s “a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.” We’ll see! Check out a teaser below!

Im excited for this season. The show has had its ups and downs but Ive enjoyed it for the most part and have always tuned in.

The show was at its best when it followed somewhat closely to the books for ideas. I hear the end of the book series was widely panned by fans, but plot-wise I hope they mined the books for story ideas, at least as a jumping off point. If nothing else, have the show be about the whole town, not just isolated stories like in a soap opera. They were moving in the right direction at the end of last year, so here’s hoping.(And where’s that announcement Moyer alluded to…? I’m guessing, or hoping, it’s a theatrical movie.)

I started losing interest about two or three seasons ago when they had the witch coven. I’m glad the producers know that it’s about time to wrap things up rather than drag them out until it’s unceremoniously cancelled.

It still pulls in high ratings, so i was surprised when HBO decided this would be the last season. I’m glad the writers and producers had a full year to come up with a great final season…lets hope they pull it off. I’ve read all of the books, and IMO, the show is way better. They used some elements from the first few books, but the remaining books they didn’t use were kind of a mess. I had hoped that Alan Ball would at least come back for the series finale, in not for the full final season since it was his baby originally. And the current show runner, Buckner, is doing ok but making some major mistakes with plot and character (for example, in last season how was Sarah Newlin able to rescind the invite to Jessica in Jason’s house? Or retconning some past events involving Vampire Eric and his sister Nora. Or how Nora read the vampire bible and discovered something important that everyone was reading wrong, and then its never mentioned again.) I hope that things like that don’t happen this season, but i’m not holding my breath.
