The Wrap has a new story (that caught our eye via Badass Digest). Apparently James Franco will be in 20th Century Fox’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to the surprisingly good Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Don’t get too excited. Apparently the appearance is so minor that Franco himself wasn’t even aware of it, and it’s probably made up of leftover footage from ROTPOTA. When EW asked about the role his reply was, ““Wait, I have a cameo? I didn’t know that. You know, I don’t even think they asked my permission for that.” So there you go. Apparently EW has some sort of info on this thing or is just so amazingly wrong (a real possibility) that they accidentally punked Franco.
In theaters July 11, Matt Reeves directs with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer and Jocko Sims starring. In the sequel to the prequel, “A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
