This Saturday at Anaheim for WonderCon IDW announced details about Ben Templesmith’s latest Lovecraft-inspired project, “The Squidder”. The miniseries tells the story of a forgotten soldier in a post-apocalyptic world overruled by “tentacled alien overlords”.
If you’ve been following Templesmith’s career, you know he loves to draw tentacles in all shapes and sizes. This book is the one where he goes all out for some Cthulhu style horror and everything we’ve seen thus far looks stellar. Check out the two covers for “The Squidder” #1 below.

This all-new four-issue series finds an old soldier from a forgotten war in a post-apocalyptic world that has left him behind. He was one of the last of the legendary Squidder Legions. Can a discarded relic with a death wish and a rebellious Squid priestess overthrow humanity’s tentacled alien overlords? Ben Templesmith returns to his roots to finally do the tentacle/Cthulhu-orientated book he’s always promised! The Squidder mixes action, horror, science fiction, and fantasy elements with a touch of Squidly destruction.
