I hope you’ve adequately prepared yourself to die a thousand deaths (and then some), because the latest installment in From Software’s famously unforgiving dark fantasy series, Dark Souls II, has arrived on PC. Never before has a game’s tagline — “Prepare to Die” — been so apt. I lost count of my death toll when I was working on my review of the game.
Speaking of which, if you’re still on the fence about it, I rewarded it a 9.5 in my review, where I called it a “masterpiece,” and one of the most “beautiful, horrifying, unforgiving, and most rewarding experiences I’ve had during my gaming career.”
If you can handle it, this is very much a game worth experiencing. And if you’ve been patient it sounds as if the PC version is the best, if you have a rig that can handle it.
