‘Let the Right One In’ Director Builds ‘The Snowman’

Tomas Alfredson

Let the Right One In helmer Tomas Alfredson, pictured, will direct an adaptation of the Jo Nesbo crime novel The Snowman for Working Title Films and Universal, Variety reports.

The film revolves around Harry Hole, a detective who has been featured in ten Nesbo novels. Described as a loose cannon in the Oslo police force, the story has Hole investigating the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman.

Alfredson will be working on a draft of the screenplay with writer Soren Sveistrup.

Kudos on this clever as hell headline. My wife won’t stop singing that damned song.
Anyways, I like his work with Let the Right One In (who didn’t?) but I am just dubious as hell that anyone can pull off a serious killer snowman flick. Then again, the evil snowman in Frozen was pretty cool…

Not sure if you’re being serious or not, but Nesbo’s novel is not about a killer snowman. :) It is good, though, so if you enjoy mystery/crime books you should check it out.

YES! I absolutely fucking loved Jo Nesbo’s novel, and I’m really excited to hear Tomas Alfredson will be taking the reigns. Loved the cold, gloomy visuals from Let the Right One In- hopefully he’ll bring that mood to this flick.

As long as it’s like the Euro version of Let The Right One In!
