I feel like every other game I write about these days is asking for my money on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or some other crowdfunding site. Revealed in January, The Chainsaw Incident is a gory fighting game that manages to make Mortal Kombat look charming. It’s also seeking to raise a gargantuan sum of cash — $275,000, with stretch goals that reach as high as $2.75 million — on Kickstarter.
The Chainsaw Incident is being crafted by a handful of developers, many of whom are veterans of the fighting genre, having worked on games like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Calibur. Its hand drawn art style makes it look deceptively cute, but that idea is quickly vanquished when you see it in action. This game isn’t cute, it’s insane, and I mean that in the best way possible.
If you have some money to spare, you can help this game out on Kickstarter.
