It’s Monday and we all need something to get us through the week, right? Well, this news might just feature that little bump you need. Portland, OR melodic black metal band Agalloch have made their new studio album The Serpent & The Sphere available for streaming via NPR. The new album, which comes out May 13th (pre-order here), is the followup to 2010’s Marrow Of The Spirit.
The album is a beautiful, dynamic mix of folk, shoegaze, and black metal, as well as incorporating traces of progressive. It’s really something quite special, with moments of gorgeous melodies springing forth with consistent regularity.
You can listen to “Celestial Effigy” below.
