“Roseanne” and “Big Bang Theory’s” Johnny Galecki, “American Horror Story’s” Chloë Sevigny, pictured above, and Witches and The Addams Family‘s Anjelica Huston, pictured below, will star in Bron Studios and Gilbert Films’ The Master Cleanse, a potent brew of dark humour and David Cronenberg-style body-horror(!), says Screen Daily.
“The Master Cleanse centers on a heartbroken man who attends a spiritual retreat, only to discover that the course releases more than everyday toxins and traumatic experiences.”
XYZ Films shops international rights and is showing a pre-visualisation of the fantasy horror at Cannes, while WME Global arranged financing and represents North America.
Jordan Horowitz produces for LA-based Gilbert Films, alongside Aaron L Gilbert for Vancouver-based Bron Studios.
Bobby Miller, whose appropriately bizarre short film “Tub” screened in Sundance 2010, makes his feature directorial debut.
Production is set for early July in Vancouver.
