[E3 2014] A Game Inspired By ‘Alone in the Dark’ and Alfred Hitchcock

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for me to discover White Night, but I am fully aware of it now and it looks very exciting. For the unfamiliar, the game is heavily inspired by old school survival horror — specifically Alone in the Dark — as well as German Expressionism and the works of Alfred Hitchcock. It’s set in the early thirties and follows a man who stumbles upon an abandoned mansion, unaware of the horrors lurking within.

I’m digging the setting, the music, and that simplistic, high contrast art style makes the shadows look tangible. This is definitely one to watch.
