[E3 2014] Jaw-Dropping ‘Bloodborne’ Screens Emerge

Last night, we got our first look at Bloodborne, a horror fantasy RPG from the makers of the Dark Souls series. If you didn’t immediately lose your mind following its announcement, then you and I aren’t on the same page, because this game looks spectacular. Literally. We have two new screens from the upcoming game that you can enjoy below. They look like concept art, but no, that’s what the actual game looks like.

We also have some new details on the game, courtesy of Famitsu and translated by NeoGAF. For starters, much like the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne will feature character customization, some sort of online functionality, both melee and long-range weapons, and apparently, the game has been “designed to feel like a life or death struggle.”

We also have a quote from visionary director Hidetaka Miyazaki:

“Creating Bloodborne as a completely new game on the new PlayStation 4 hardware has allowed us to really push the envelope in myriad ways. That being said, in more ways than one, it also very much retains our distinct, signature style. As has been at the core of our development philosophy since Demon’s Souls, we make true games for people who love games. Please watch for more to come on Bloodborne, and thank you very much for your support.”

Bloodborne is slated to release exclusively on the PS4 in 2015.
