2 Rare ‘Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers’ Images Highlight Film’s Anniversary!

We’re continuing to share rare high resolution photos from the Halloween series today as we celebrate the 26th anniversary of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers!

Today we celebrate the film’s anniversary with 2 brand new high resolution photos that are perfect to use for various backgrounds (mobile, tablet, laptop, desktop, etc).

The 1988 films is pretty great, and a landmark as it brings Michael Myers back into the Halloween films after his absence from Halloween III: Season of the Witch. While Witch is an absolutely fantastic movie – easily one of the best Halloween films ever made – the general public didn’t like the departure from the first two.

Directed by Dwight H. Little, Halloween 4 introduces Jamie Lloyd, played by Danielle Harris, who is the daughter of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Her character would be an intricate part of the Thorn arc that runs through three films. Harris would be recast in Curse however.

From Wiki: “Halloween 4 opened in 1,679 theaters on October 21, 1988 and grossed $6,831,250 in its opening weekend, achieving a total domestic gross of $17,768,757 in the United States, becoming the fifth best performing film in the Halloween series. The film received mixed critical reception. It currently has a score of 43 on Metacritic, which indicates mixed or average reviews, placing it higher than Halloween II; on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a “rotten” score of just 26% based on 23 reviews.”

You guys can (and should) pick up Anchor Bay Entertainment and Scream Factory’s Halloween Complete Collection, now available in stories on Blu-ray (I binge-watched them here).

Dead Mail SXSW Dead Mail interview

One of the genre films we’re looking forward to checking out at SXSW this year is Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy and premiering on March 9.

Meagan Navarro will be reviewing Dead Mail for Bloody Disgusting as part of her SXSW coverage, and she writes in her preview for the upcoming fest: “Dead Mail leans heavily into the ’80s analog aesthetic, delivering a unique crime thriller unafraid to get offbeat with its dark narrative. Expect its characters to be as atypical as Dead Mail‘s sense of style.”

In the SXSW 2024 horror film…

“On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives.

“When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it…”

Sterling Macer, Jr., John Fleck, Susan Priver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman star in Dead Mail. Preview the film with an exclusive image gallery below.
