Kane Hodder Returns As Jason Voorhees!

Published

on

A lot of you guys are Kane Hodder super fans, and consider him to be the best Jason Voorhees of all time. While he hasn’t donned the makeup in nearly 15 years, with his last appearance being in the 2001 Jason X, it doesn’t mean he can’t rock the mask one last time.

Hodder fans pay attention, cause this is almost as big as when Robert Englund rocked the Freddy Krueger makeup one final time. Hodder will be appearing with FX artist and director John Carl Buechler at Chicago’s upcoming Mad Mobster True Crime & Horror Expo next February. There, Hodder will take photos with fans in his famous Jason Voorhees makeup.

The catch? It’s super expensive, there’s no mention of this being the final time Hodder will do this (I’m expecting him to milk this for all it’s worth), and there’s no charity mentioned. The fact that Englund already did this, as did the cast of Child’s Play, sort of takes the wind out of the sails. Still, this is a pretty awesome opportunity for hardcore Jason/Hodder fans. Frankly, I think I’ll be there. Who wants to miss an opportunity like this?

February Friday the 13th, 2015, Kane Hodder will be donning the full makeup and costume designed by director and original FX designer John Carl Buechler. Fans will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get a photo with one of the biggest horror icons of all time. The photo will be included in the “Friday the 13th with Kane Hodder and John C. Buechler” package on sale this Friday (Halloween), it will be $199. It will include one autograph from Kane and John, an in-makeup photo op with a green screen background (for up to 2 adults) and reserved seating at the Q&A. It does not include admission to the convention which is required (single day Friday is $25, weekend is $50). Tickets for Friday with Kane & John will be extremely limited, there will be a few available at the show for walk-up fans, but if you absolutely do not want to risk missing it, we strongly recommend pre-purchasing it ASAP.

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
