Charlize Theron’s ‘Dark Places’ Heads to DirecTV via A24

A24 and DirecTV have acquired all U.S rights to Charlize Theron’s Dark Places, based on the novel by “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn, says Variety.

Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Tye Sheridan and Corey Stoll also star. The film was directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner from his adaptation.

Theron plays a survivor of the brutal killing of her family as a child who’s forced to confront the events of that day by a secret society obsessed with solving crimes.

Producers are Cathy Schulman, Matthew Rhodes, Azim Bolkiah, Matt Jackson, Beth Kono, A.J. Dix, Charlize Theron and Stephane Marsil. Executive producers include Jeff Rice, Jose Levy, Matthias Ehrenberg, Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Tobin Armbrust, Jillian Longnecker, Ginger Sledge and Peter Safran.
