Could We Finally See ‘7500,’ Thanks to Lionsgate?
Variety reports that Lionsgate has struck a deal with CBS Films to distribute the movie company’s wide release movies over the next three years.
It has been suggested that the shelved 7500 – out all over the world already – could finally find a release through Lionsgate. My guess is that it would be one of the popular VOD/limited release ejections.
“True Blood’s” Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart co-star as married couple Brad and Pia Martin, who board Vista Pacific Flight 7500 with their two longtime friends for a trip to Japan. Leslie Bibb is set to play Laura Baxter, a stewardess on the transpacific liner, who is involved in a complicated and secret relationship.
Scout Taylor-Compton, Johnathon Schaech, Jamie Chung, Nicky Whelan, Christian Serratos, Jerry Ferrara and Alex Frost also star.

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
