Raptor Sneaks a Look At ‘Jurassic World’ Super Bowl Spot

“Clever girl.”

Late this past week we teased the Indominus Rex, the new man-made, hybrid dinosaur in Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World.

Now, a day ahead of the “Big Game” Super Bowl TV Spot, director Colin Trevorrow is teasing the new trailer with the following image of a vicious Velociraptor, which was the scariest dino in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. If the initial trailer is to be believed, star Chris Pratt rides a motorcycle with a flock of Raptors, further indicating that these dinosaurs are so smart that maybe they actually help the humans in this summer’s JP sequel (June 10, 2015).

We’ll be back tomorrow with an embed of the new spot, which hopefully carries a ton of new footage.

The BIG problem with movies like Jurassic – compared to other ‘creature’ movies is that they have the insatiable need to make the next chapter ‘bigger’ as far as creatures go.

First there was T-Rex, then 2 T-Rex, then Spinosaur, now the I- Rex.

Take a series like Jaws. There was a big shark, then a big shark, then a big shark, then a big shark. Not saying Jaws is a great series – but people went to the movies because the ONE creature was always the draw. They didn’t need to mutate it and make it bigger every time.

It’s similar to F13 and similar slash movies for the most part. F13 in Space of course doesn’t fit with my rant, but you get the idea. Many of the best series stay with their ‘bad guy’, or hell, even their ‘good guy’ without having to bloat it up, genetically alter it to try and draw fans back for the next round.

Some movies did it organically – and it works well – think Aliens where the Queen – when shown – was in context and everything before her makes sense to her reveal. Hell, even the original star wars trilogy did a good job of basically sticking with Vader, and alluding to the Emperor – who when finally revealed was in context and didn’t seem like they were trying to cram a stronger Darth Vader down your throats.

Basically – if Jurassic Word works – and is entertaining and they make a sequel – I’m guessing the next movie they will have 2 headed dinosaurs…

Agreed. I would have been perfectly content if the T-Rex from the first movie were the baddie in this one.

Although I agree (in a way) for the Spinosaurus in JP3, I think that this one is justified in the movie, they are trying to push the boundaries to keep people interested and thats pretty much from what we have seen is what will make the film so I personally think this is a justified step forward as apposed to just doing it for sake of a new dinosaur.

Universal should make Jurassic World sequels and Halo films

Also Universal should make another film called Jurassic Halo!!!

    Clever girl.

the Spino sucked in JP3 and not having the fan favorite T-Rex defeat him in the end was a big letdown imo. i don’t think they will make the same mistake with this one.
