Archie Andrews is currently battling the Predator, and Archie Comics announces “Archie Vs Sharknado.” The guy can’t catch a break. Deadline broke the story in an article concerning the awesome viability of the insane franchise. Luckily it seems the comic will be without some of the “celebrities” they mention from the film series. That’s if you count the corpse of Tara Reid as a celebrity. Then again, there is something irresistible about Chris Jericho and Jerry Spring together on the silver screen versus a menacing whirl of sharks.
Now it’s on the shoulders of Archie Andrews to top that team up. ‘Archie Vs Sharknado’ is written by Sharknado trilogy director Anthony C. Ferrante, with art by long time Archie artist Dan Parent, Syfy and Archie Comics have announced that the “shark-tacular” 48-page comic issue will be released in comic shops, and digitally, the same day Syfy unveils Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! That’s Wednesday, July 22.
“The Sharknado franchise has soared in popularity due partly to the variety of great celebrities, who bravely encounter this unnatural menace,” Syfy Ventures VP Jeff Li said. “Sharknado survivors come in all forms. It’s only natural that Archie and the gang will get a chance to save their town from flying sharks.” Will you be grabbing these shark-tacular crossover come July?
