Horror-Themed Swap Meet at Seattle’s Legendary Scarecrow Video
On Saturday, August 1st, swarms of horror fans will take over Scarecrow Video in Seattle, Washington. For the most part this is nothing new for the largest independently owned video and physical media library in the country, but on this particular day it’ll be a little more exciting. From 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM the video store will turn into The Swapping Dead, a horror VHS swap meet. Here fans of the macabre will be able to buy, sell and trade VHS tapes, DVDs, Laserdics, T-shirt, collectibles and anything else you can think of! There will be a huge selection, great prices and admission is free!
If you’re in the Seattle area on August 1st, I highly recommend you take the time to stop by The Swapping Dead. Not only will you get to find cool additions to your collection but you’ll get to interact with other horror maniacs all while doing so at the best video store to ever exist. Scarecrow Video is haven for movie lovers. The amount of movies they have on various formats is absolutely absurd, you have to see it to believe it. Every fan of cinema should make it a point to visit Scarecrow Video at least once in their life, so why not do it now?
While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.
This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.
You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!
In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?
“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.
