‘Seconds’ to Get Masters of Cinema UK Release

Published

on

For those of us in the US John Frankenheimer’s 1966 sci-fi classic Seconds has been available on Blu-ray for a couple of years thanks to the Criterion Collection. On October 26, 2015 our friends over in the UK will now have easy access as well thanks to a dual format Masters of Cinema release from Eureka Entertainment. Like the Criterion release, Eureka has loaded this one up with special features and they’re actually not identical. Eureka has tossed in a few new special features to set their release apart a bit. Seconds was directed by John Frankenheimer and stars Rock Hudson.

Synopsis:
An unhappy middle-aged banker agrees to a procedure that will fake his death and give him a completely new look and identity – one that comes with its own price.

Special Features:
•Gorgeous restoration from a 4K transfer, in 1080p HD on the Blu-ray
•Two Feature-length audio commentaries: one by director John Frankenheimer, and one by film scholar Adrian Martin
•New video interview with novelist and critic Kim Newman
•Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hearing-impaired
•Original theatrical trailer
•Booklet featuring new essays by critics David Cairns and Mike Sutton
