David Lynch regular Laura Dern has officially joined the cast of the upcoming “Twin Peaks” revival, which will air on Showtime sometime in 2017. Her role is not yet revealed but TVLine, who broke the story, are theorizing that she could portray “Diane”, the faceless, voiceless character that Special Agent Dale Cooper spoke to via tape recorder.
Doing so would be rather interesting as we’d actually get to meet Diane for the first time in the show’s history. Additionally, it’d see Kyle MacLachlan and Dern team up again, as they did in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. Still, let’s wait to see what happens before leaping to any conclusions!
David Lynch returns to the mysterious Pacific Northwest town that he helped create in the early 90’s by directing 18 brand-new episodes.
