NECA Reveals ‘Alien3’ Ripley and Xenomorphs

Not only does Toy Ark have photos of all of the new Predator figures from NECA, they’ve shared shots from the Toy Fair floor of the teased Alien 3 line.

Below are prototype shots of Prisoner Ripley, as well as the Yutani Commando taken from the end of David Fincher’s 1992 disaster, which has since become a cult classic.

These are welcome additions to the already massive Alien line that consists of various figures from Ridley Scott’s classic and James Cameron’s sequel, Aliens. I’m now sure how you top Ripley in a Power Loader at this point, but I’m game for whatever NECA wants to throw at me.

Updated with official shots from NECA, who adds:

Our best-selling ‘Alien’ line continues with more action figure debuts!

Series 8 focuses on 1992’s ‘Alien 3,’ and includes Weyland Yutani Commando, Dog Alien, and the first Ripley figure from this movie to feature the likeness of Sigourney Weaver.

Ripley in Prisoner Uniform comes with removable jacket, 2 sets of arms, and flashlight & torch accessories. Weyland Yutani Commando comes with removable goggles, custom pulse rifle, and knife that fits in a boot sheath. The Dog Alien comes in brown and gray variants, with over 30 points of articulation and bendable tail.

Each highly articulated figure stands approximately 7” tall (Dog Alien is over 9” tall).

In addition to Leigh Whannell’s upcoming Universal Monsters movie Wolf Man, Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel) has also joined the cast of Weapons, THR has announced tonight.

Weapons is the new horror movie from New Line Cinema and director Zach Cregger (Barbarian), with Julia Garner joining the previously announced Josh Brolin (Dune 2).

The upcoming Weapons is from writer/director Zach Cregger, who will also produce alongside his Barbarian producing team: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.

The Hollywood Reporter teases, “Plot details for Weapons are being kept holstered but it is described as a multi and inter-related story horror epic that tonally is in the vein of Magnolia, the 1999 actor-crammed showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.”

Cregger was a founding member and writer for the New York comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’Know,” which he started while attending The School of Visual Arts. The award-winning group’s self-titled sketch comedy show ran for five seasons on IFC-TV and Fuse. He was also a series regular on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series “Guys with Kids” and the TBS hit series “Wrecked,” and was featured in a recurring role on the NBC series “About a Boy.”

Weapons will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
