‘Halloween’: Malek Akkad Responds to Rumors of a Television Series

Published

on

After we broke the news that Dimension had lost the rights to Halloween, a few days ago we reported on rumors of a potential Halloween television series. It turns out that they were nothing more than that.

When Dread Central asked for confirmation of these reports, Malek Akkad himself emphatically assured them.

No,” said Akkad regarding the possibility of Michael Myers coming to the small screen. “Utter rumors and falsehoods.

To be fair, filmmakers and actors aren’t often honest when inside info becomes public, sometimes because it can fuck up a deal. I’m not saying Akkad isn’t being truthful, but what if the deal of a lifetime was placed in front of him?

Whatever the case, as of this writing it sounds as if Michael Myers will only live on through the big screen. We’ve heard of some studios the franchise could land at, but nothing is imminent.

But fear not! John Carpenter’s Halloween is arguably the biggest horror franchise of time. It’s only a matter of time before The Shape is resurrected once again.
