Another quick addition to the cast of Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant as Watchmen‘s Billy Crudup will join yesterday’s announcement of Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, “The Killing”), Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills). They all will be heading to the Engineer home planet with Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride. Australian actor Alex England (Gods of Egypt was also just added as a late addition.

While it was reported that Noomi Rapace will not be returning as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, there still has yet to be official confirmation.

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Fox has set Alien: Covenant for theaters on August 4, 2017.

As a recap: Late last year Scott also excited us all when he said, “We’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.” He also explained that the film will reveal a destroyed Engineer planet, and also shared plans for an expanded universe that will eventually bridge directly into his 1979 Alien.
