'Jeepers Creepers 3' Casting Notice Removed - Bloody Disgusting!

‘Jeepers Creepers 3’ Casting Notice Removed

Jeepers Creepers Score

Victor Salva’s past continues to haunt him as a casting agency in Canada removed a post looking for actors for Jeepers Creepers 3. The director put up the post on Breakdown Services but it was noticed by Union of British Columbia Performers, who alerted talent agents, who in turn alerted the website, who took down the post.

The website stated, “Upon learning of this notice and our own verification of the facts surrounding Salva’s conviction, Breakdown Services has removed this project from its files. All submissions made by any agent on this project are no longer available to the casting director nor any member of the production staff.

Meanwhile, the Union issued their own statement:

It has recently come to our attention that a casting breakdown has gone out for a feature film entitled Jeepers Creepers III, and that the director of the film, Victor Salva, was convicted of sexual misconduct in 1988. The conviction allegedly resulted from misconduct involving a minor whom Mr. Salva was directing at the time. At this time we would like to remind our members and their agents that, under Article A2702 (Safety & Welfare of a Minor) of the BC Master Production Agreement, a performer has the right to refuse work if they believe that the nature of the work is unsafe.

Our own Trace Thurman has written about Salva’s situation and opened a discussion regarding people’s feelings towards how it should be handled.

As much as I want JC3, I’m glad. He should be in prison – not directing movies.

    • Jack Derwent

      He was already in prison?

      • chanelxwaldorf

Yes…for like a year or so. He should have gotten life in prison.

        • Jon Lachonis

Part of the reason he got such a light sentence is he performed the sex act on the child not the other way around. Apparently that is less sick?!

    • Bill Semi Liar

Yeah. I wanted the movie to be made, but that casting info is discouraging. Let other non-pedo artists express their art.

  • wehoaks

JB! You left out the most important, and YIKESiest aspect of the Deadline article:

The casting notice sought an 18-year-old actress for the role of Addison, who at the age of 13 had been sent to live with her grandmother after her stepfather “started making overtures” to her. Salva could not be reached for comment.

    • Terrorize Children.

      Yikes.

    • Jon Lachonis

Yeah but Salva likes little boys.

      • wehoaks

        K.

  • Jack Derwent

I wonder if they’ll do the same thing next time Polanski directs a film.

    • wehoaks

if he ever plans to shoot a film in Canada you can ask them.

      • Jack Derwent

I would hope Canada’s not the only country to take precautions against predators.

        • wehoaks

          They aren’t.

        • Creepshow

Roman Polanski will never set foot in North America or Canada again. (because he’s a wanted man)
And Poland won’t extradite him either.

    • Lady Bathory

      I hope so, tbh…

    • alwayswipetwice

Not unless he films in a country with extradition. France, his home, loves harboring criminals.

  • BloodyDisgusted

Once a pedophile always a pedophile. And that character description, WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Creepshow

    Dear Fat fuck Scumbag,

  • Halloween_Vic

He is a fucking disgusting pig, but I have high hopes for JC3 and not in any way related to Salva, just for the film itself.

    • alwayswipetwice

Unfortunately, the two are inseparable and will most likely always be that way because of Salva’s buddy Francis Coppola.

  • chanelxwaldorf

The first two movies aren’t even that good looking back so I’m not sad this pedophile won’t receive any money since well, this movie looks like it’s done for. Bye trash!

  • dave o

I don’t get the venom for this project, yes Salva did something absolutely disgusting but he went to prison (imo he should have gotten longer) and served his time and hasn’t been in trouble since. There are a fair few people working in Hollywood with a much bigger profile who have done the same or even murdered people and they don’t get as much heat as Salva.

    • wehoaks

      K.

      • dave o

Very interesting view you have there…

        • wehoaks

Salva used his set to commit his crimes. He should be kept away from sets forever and should be in prison for the same amount of time he sentenced his victim to: Life.

          Better?

          • dave o

Much better than the redundant ‘K’ response you gave initially, yes. I loath pedophiles as much as anyone else but instead of being the hero on here (for up votes) perhaps you could use that energy to fight for harsher punishment for convicted pedophiles rather than boycotting somebody who committed his crimes 20 years ago on a horror board?

          • wehoaks

Ah yes, because one can only post comments on BD (apparently as a hero up vote getter???) OR volunteer with multiple organizations, one of which works with LGBT survivors of this type of violence here in greater Los Angeles, many who deal with it for life even if the despicable act was committed 20 years ago. No no no no no way someone could possibly do both.

            K.

          • dave o
          • dave o

Aren’t you just amazing, no need for me to admire your efforts you already clearly admire yourself more than enough.

            I’ll still enjoy JC3 🙂

          • wehoaks

Or just pointing out what a dumbass you are. Don’t call people out on shit you assume if you can’t handle the reply. Enjoy a rapists film.

          • RidleyScott

Yeah, you have fun with Jeepers Creepers Part Three!

          • RidleyScott

What’s this crazy talk of…doing multiple things?!

          • wehoaks

What does that even mean? Dave’s brain can’t compute…

          • alwayswipetwice

You think it’s more likely that someone would be fishing for upvotes than actually be opposed to a rapist like Salva? Can we use upvotes to pay our bills or something?

          • wehoaks

The fact that some people have the capability to look beyond their own need for a stupid movie and it’s beyond belief to him says everything about him.

          • dave o

I think it’s definately for up votes when people descend into name calling and sarcastic comments instead of actually debating like an adult yeah. Just IMHO.

          • wehoaks

I know I agree. after I replied with my opinion you got really sarcastic and made all these unnecessary assumptions about me for no reason. It’s big of you to admit you created an unnecessary rift here.

          • dave o

            K.

          • wehoaks

            Sheep!

          • alwayswipetwice

I’m almost positive there isn’t any proof that it gets you upvotes.

I’m also positive that this confusion is over your admission to not understanding why people would be so opposed to anything made by Salva.

          • RidleyScott

            Francis Ford Fuckola

          • alwayswipetwice

Finally! He’s ultimately the reason for this whole conflict with the franchise.
            Francis Ford I’m-friends-with-rapists-and-support-them. I’m not very creative… lol =(

        • alwayswipetwice

No point in being redundant (to argue a moot point, nonetheless) when there’s an entire article dedicated exclusively to this conversation. If you’re interested, Barkan linked it in the bottom of this article.

    • alwayswipetwice

As far as I know, the horror community/JC fans are the only ones who are vocal about Salva. Canada only spoke up because the film was casting in their country, so naturally being the progressive and rational country that they are, they said “hell no”. They also play an active role in creating media through their Telefilm program (which is how Cronenberg developed his roots), so they aren’t indifferent to the industry.

Given the fact that BD clearly has integrity, if another filmmaker who’s made a name for themselves in the genre had similar offenses, we should expect to hear about it too. Salva is also relevant at the moment, so that’s why you’re noticing all the hubbub. He also abused his power as a filmmaker to commit his crimes, as other readers have pointed out.

    • balashi

Yes, he served his legal time.. doesn’t mean we should give him a shred of sympathy when something like this happens. Do you think, after 19 months of a jail sentence that he served, that his victim suddenly stopped having any issues from the incident?

He ruined a life .. his should be ruined too.. no sympathy

  • Francesco Falciani

    they won’t do it…

  • Lady Bathory

So, guys I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I don’t mean to disrespect anyone… but how can anyone seriously make up excuses for Salva or play his actions down by saying he did his time, or there others like him?!?! Of course there are others like him but now at least one of them has to suffer consequences …kind of…

    • dave o

I don’t really see anyone making excuses for Salva for his actions and on a personal level I believe he should probably still be in prison but the fact is he’s not…A few people on here threatening to boycott is a bit silly really, cool they’ll miss it in cinemas…they’ll undoubtedly see it in some capacity so I find the outcry on here quite laughable.

      • Lady Bathory

Yeah I know what you mean but I don’t agree 😉 I think there should be even more of an outcry and I’m glad about every ticket that isn’t sold. I mean, you wrote it yourself, Salva should still be in prison. Instead, he’s back on set and mocks audiences and his victim with his films and casting notices.

  • DarkBree

Just take him out of the project and hire someone else in his place.

    • J Jett

DarkBree, i agree w/ you. i’m surprised Salva himself doesn’t just produce it and bring in a director for part 3. but i don’t know if that would be acceptable or not since he’d still technically be involved with the movie.

      • DarkBree

Yeah, I think they have to let him go entirely, not having his name attached to it.

        • Daniel Baldwin

He would still get paid for it, as he is the franchise’s creator. Also, his deal with Coppola and the production company might be contingent on him directing/writing/producing the project. It might be impossible to make it without Salva.

          • alwayswipetwice

Salva and Coppola are friends. It goes beyond business.

          • DarkBree

If that’s the case, there’s nothing to be done.

    • alwayswipetwice

His buddy Francis Coppola is exec producer of the franchise and got him the job to begin with, so unfortunately I think that’s impossible.

      • DarkBree

If the backlash is big enough, even a boycott, it can affect the box office, since they love money, they will have to do something about it.

        • alwayswipetwice

I like to think that’s true, but for how cheaply this can, and will most likely, be made, I bet Coppola would release it anyway out of spite.

          • RidleyScott

Uh not out of spite. Lol Coppola…releasing…-ers 3…spite. Oooooooooooooo-kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

          • Creepshow

Are you ok? Your showing signs of a stroke.

          • RidleyScott

Francis Ford Coppola releasing Jeepers Creepers III out of spite. That’s all sorts of charming. Uh what? He’s producing it because he clearly has no fucks to give about Salva’s past, he produced the other two. That was what elicited my stroke lol.

          • Creepshow

Ha-ha, got it! Let’s go kick the crap outta Nicolas Cage in rebellion!

          • alwayswipetwice

The Weinsteins (whos relationship with Polanski is similar to Crappola/Salva’s) sabotaged the release of Snowpiercer out of spite, so it’s not out of the realm for scummy producers to do such things.

  • J Jett

what is confusing to me is, did this type of casting notice removal/drama (i don’t mean that in a belittling way) happen with JEEPERS CREEPERS 1 and 2 or Salva’s casting for POWDER or ROSEWOOD LANE or DARK HOUSE, etc.? i genuinely am curious if this backlash has happened with casting his other films.

    • wehoaks

I think it has to do with the fact that he most likely can’t enter Canada.

      • J Jett

wehoaks, is that true? i admit i don’t know much about Salva (other than his initial crime). i just wish someone else would come in and direct this 3rd JC movie. lol.

    • alwayswipetwice

The first JC filmed in Florida – so hell no. Florida is an idiotic, scummy state (no offense to Floridians themselves). Can’t comment on the rest though. Canada seems pretty progressive, so this isn’t much a surprise, imo.

      • J Jett

        thanx for the info/clarification! 🙂

      • Meisha’s Taint

I only like Florida because I am from Arizona and as long as Florida exists I will never live in the worst state in the union. Florida makes AZ look good go Florida!

        • alwayswipetwice

          Nailed it.

  • balashi

I think a person who does something that reprehensible SHOULD pay for it for the rest of their life… same way that their victims pay for it for the rest of THEIR lives.

  • wehoaks

So am I lying or admiring my own efforts? Pick one moron.

    • alwayswipetwice

      XD

    • dave o

The descent into name calling begins, the sheep will be very impressed I’m sure!

      • wehoaks

Yes you should be so proud you’re marching to the beat of your own drum by STICKING UP FOR A PEDOPHILE.

Feel free to keep deflecting dipshit. You tried calling me out and it backfired so of course you have no other way to react.

        • dave o

Where did I stick up for Salva? I think you’ll find in my initial post I said I felt he deserved MORE prison time and he’s not somebody I admire in any way but I love Jeepers Creepers and want a part 3. If he’s involved or not I’m looking forward to it.

Call me whatever you want dude, I’m laughing at you getting all bent out of shape because I want to see a movie you don’t 🙂

          • wehoaks

            Thanks for the chapter. K.

          • dave o

You’re most welcome, thanks for entertaining me for the last half hour with your tantrum haha

          • wehoaks

coming from the dude who couldn’t handle a simple “K.”

          • alwayswipetwice

Then why is it so hard to understand why people would hate on anything with his name on it? That’s the disconnect that has us all confused, I’m sure.

          • dave o

Hate on him all you want, I’m not fond of the guy myself (apart from Jeepers Creepers being one of my first forays into horror) but I feel like people are dead against the project in general just because of him.

          • wehoaks

            Many people are. And?

          • dave o

            And you’re genuinely boring now

          • wehoaks

You are such a pussy Ahahahahaha.

          • alwayswipetwice

We all have different memories in connection with watching the movies, so there’s nothing sick or unnatural about feeling conflicted about liking them. No one is giving you, or anyone, grief for that (we were clear about that in the linked article).

In regards to JC3 though, you’re exactly right – it’s because of him. I’ve been anxiously curious about this sequel too, but ultimately, I won’t support it. Luckily it’s just a movie and there’s plenty of others to invest my passion and money into. But that’s just me.

          • dave o

I respect your decision to avoid it, that’s totally your prerogative of course but you can’t really tell me nobody was giving me grief when if you look a little further down that’s exactly what I got for saying I was looking forward to the movie…

          • alwayswipetwice

You tried to undermine his stance on the issue by calling him a hero who was fishing for votes, then told him to go do something in real life instead. Wehoaks may have been short to begin with, but this issue was discussed to death in the linked article, so it’s hard to imagine how someone couldn’t understand why so many people are against supporting Salva’s work. It’s a serious issue, which is exactly how BD and many of us have treated it.

          • wehoaks

Dude go look at your initial reply after I gave you my stance and try again.

          • wehoaks

But either way Christy Masters stuck magnets to your back…

  • RidleyScott

    Poooooooooopy

  • wehoaks

    Let’s fold scarves!

    • dave o

I’ll actually give you an up vote with the Romy & Michele reference haha

      • wehoaks

        Okay Toby, fuck off.

        • dave o

Please don’t tell me to fuck off, because it really hurts my feelings.

          • wehoaks

I hurt your feelings? Tremendous! Go get your stupid yearbook. I’ll be happy to sign it.

  • astronauta69

    still wanna see the movie

  • Meisha’s Taint

I won’t watch and I will never support any studio or any entity that has anything to do with it ever again.

    SHUT THIS MOVIE DOWN

    • Gadriel

Then I hope you don’t support Disney, as less we forget, THEY were the first people to give him work after leaving gaol.
DISNEY. A so called FAMILY oriented company.
Who gave work to a convicted nonce.

      • Meisha’s Taint

The logic that it’s OK to hire a child molester NOW because some one else did over 20 years ago is specious reasoning and sounds like something a pederass would say. BOTH of your posts on here seems to have you defending child molestation. Gadriel why is this your only contribution to the conversation?

        • Gadriel

You’ve lost me – how in the hell to you come to the assumption that I’m defending child molestation?
I’m merely pointing out that Disney were the first to re-employ him after leaving gaol, and THEY are supposed to be a “family friendly” company. I have in no way said that it’s “fine” to employ him now because others have done so in the past. In my mind the guy should still be serving time.

Please, feel free to repost “both” of my comments that seem to “defend child molestation”, as I have not done so in any manner whatsoever.

Unless you consider my comments about Salva, were I have stated that he should have been executed for his crimes, as some kind of “defence” of nonces.

          I don’t appreciate your insinuation.

          • Meisha’s Taint

What does Disney have to do with Jeepers Creepers 3 again?

          • Gadriel

They were the first person to employ the guy who is going to direct it. You said “I won’t watch and I will never support any studio or any entity that has anything to do with it ever again”, so it seems as if you feel a studio/entity that offers the chance of Salva making a movie (whether it be JC3 or any other project) should be shunned. I agree.
Disney are one of those companies who openly supported him when he came out of gaol. They would have known all about his past.
Oh, and in regards to the original JC it was released in the US (on dvd) by MGM. Who are in close cahoots with Disney – I’m not certain if they are owned by Disney, but they are at least in partnership.

          • Meisha’s Taint

“so it seems as if you feel a studio/entity that offers the chance of Salva making a movie (whether it be JC3 or any other project) should be shunned. I agree.”

Than talk about Victor Salva who we are trying to stop from making a movie, and not bring up meaningless things from the past that has nothing to do with this conversation. Talking about a 20+ year old story does nothing for everyone.

  • Meisha’s Taint

Victor Salva if I see you in public I’m going to damage you beyond repair. Imagine Mike Tyson stomping on a grape but the grape is your fuckin’ head. Your twisted brains are going to paint the sidewalk like a Pollock painting for what you have done.

    • alwayswipetwice

You and your life are worth more than his. Never worth it. Best to write a revenge story about a rapist called Sictor Valva (you know, lawsuits and all) ;D

      • Meisha’s Taint

Ha ha you might be right but that was a cat on the keyboard. He thinks he’s people

    • Gadriel

Let’s not forget the Mike Tyson is also a convicted sex offender…..

      • Meisha’s Taint

He is a convicted sex offender but he didn’t sexually assault her, they had consensual sex and he refused to hail a cab for her when it was snowing outside and told her to leave. A dick move but not worthy of being jailed for sexual assault she said she felt bad about what she did to him she essentially admitted it but just kept her mouth shut enough she couldn’t be held accountable for what she did. This is well known. Please stop spreading these rumors Mike’s guilty of being a male, black boxing champ in the 90’s he didn’t stand a chance and you are not helping!

        • Gadriel

Why are you making it about race?
It shouldn’t matter that he’s a black guy, a white guy or someone inbetween.

Whether or not I believe Tyson is a rapist is a moot point (I actually believe he’s not – as at the time he could have ANY woman in the world he wanted – but then again, perhaps that’s why he did it – if he did – because he believed that to be the case…) the fact is that he was found guilty and convicted of it.

But, I, nor you, can claim 100% that he’s guilty/innocent of it.
The only 2 people who know are those who were present at the time.
So you cannot say in all certainty that he didn’t sexually assault her and that they had consensual sex.

I would hope that he didn’t – but he showed himself up as an animal when he bit off Holyfield’s ear. Or was that consensual, too?

          • Meisha’s Taint

Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. Goodbye

      • Darnell

The reason that Mike Tyson was able to recover his image is no one with a clue believes he raped that woman. She did this to make a fast buck and was upset that he hit it, and quit it.

It also came out later this woman was a known groupie and had been putting out for celebrity’s for years.

Mike Tyson also always maintained his innocence. From what I read Victor Salva admitted that he did this to the kid.

        • Gadriel

Thing is that Salva couldn’t deny it – he videotaped the whole sordid thing.

  • I wouldn’t dream of defending him or making excuses for what he did, but I’d be a hypocrite if I said I wouldn’t watch the film. I’d like to see Jeepers Creepers 3 because I loved the first 2 and up until a week ago had no idea about Salva being a filthy nonce. Unless the movie is full of hidden messages about child molestation I don’t see how his convictions could make me like it any less, unless the film is crap.

All that aside, I’d happy knock the dirty bastard out with a baseball bat.

    • James

Me too. He’s one of many, many horrible people but I still want a JC3. If Polanski and woody Allen can keep making movies then I don’t see why victor can’t.

  • Peter Kushing

Just give this fat fuck his walking papers and get someone else. It’s not like he’s fuckin cronenberg.

  • Bobby

It’s really simple. Kick Salva off of doing JC 3. Find a new director. Move forward and make the movie. Directors are replaced all time. So, why not now?

    • wehoaks

      Because it’s his franchise.

  • Bobby

So? Other directors have been replaced on their franchise. When it comes between fan pressure or losing money studios listen.

    • wehoaks

You know you can reply directly to someone by hitting reply under their comment right?

And it is literally his franchise. He owns it (partially).

    • alwayswipetwice

Francis Coppola (Mr. “Apocalypse Now”) is good buddies with Salva. He’s the exec producer of the franchise and the one that got Salva the job, and back on his feet after his jail time, to begin with. So I think all hope for this franchise is dead and buried (at least for those who don’t want to support a rapist).

    • Darnell

I just looked it up. He has the sole rights to the Jeeper’s Creeper franchise. He has controlling interest in the franchise which I don’t see him letting go. Both movies cost a combined 35 million to make and they turned a 178,000,000 profit.

  • Bobby

If fans put enough pressure on the studio they will listen. It’s happened in the past when a studio gets feedback from fans that don’t want a director continue on the franchise for whatever reason.

    • wehoaks

      HE OWNS THE FRANCHISE.

I am no longer replying to you until you learn how to reply directly to a comment. My 2 year old nephew said he’d teach you if you want.

      • Bobby

You obviously don’t know how business works. Studios are in business to make money. If you really want the movie to be made make your dissatisfaction Salva will continue to be the director of the franchise and they will listen. It’s all about money. As far as your other comment goes….grow up and show some maturity.

        • wehoaks

This isn’t a studio film so that is neither hear nor there.

And I will say one more time: HE PARTIALLY OWNS THE FRANCHISE HE IS NOT GOING TO FIRE HIMSELF.

I’ll grow up the moment you get a clue.

          • Bobby

He partially owns the franchise, okay? He can be bought out by the other owner. Happens all the time. For the right price he’ll sell. Everyone has a price. Now do you understand?

          • wehoaks

I understand that fine but your dumb ass never once said that.

          • Bobby

This is the exact reason I seldom reply to any of conversations on BD. The constant insulting and the abusive language. Try being an adult and having a conversation without doing either. Unless you’re a teenage boy and then it makes perfect sense for your lack of maturity.

          • wehoaks

I figured you didn’t reply much because you don’t have a very good idea of what you’re talking about. Huh who knew.

          • Bobby

Sorry but I do know how business goes. I ran one for over 20 years.

          • wehoaks

            Yes. RAN.

          • Bobby

It was my business. I ran it because it was my business. I sold it because my partner wanted to take over. I wanted out. That’s the way business works. The money was right it helped make my decision.

          • wehoaks

AWESOME! You should go buy out Salva!

          • Bobby

I must be talking to a teenager. It shows.

          • wehoaks

So if I’m a teenager your communication skills would then reveal that you’re what, 5 and a chicken?

          • Bobby

My communication skills are fine. It is you who are acting like a child.

          • wehoaks

            Hunt and peck motherfucker!

          • Bobby

Once again you show how immature you are. I have better things to do than argue with a immature teenager. God bless.

          • wehoaks

Invisible Man in the Sky bless to you too!

          • Khy

            lmfao

          • wehoaks

FOR THE RIGHT PRICE BAHAHAHAHA yeah like some dumb idiot is gonna offer him more than a tic tac and a rubber band for his piece of the franchise.

    • wehoaks

Also “It’s happened in the past when a studio gets feedback from fans that
don’t want a director continue on the franchise for whatever reason.”

      That has literally NEVER happened.

      • Bobby

        If you say so.

        • wehoaks

          History says so.

        • PsychoMantis18

Why don’t you actually try defending your point by providing an example?

      • PsychoMantis18

        Hilarious.

  • Rob

Good, fuck him. His victim’s life was ruined by Silva’s actions, so let the punishment fit the crime.

  • Charlie Dean Harper

thank you guys ruining the one chance that I can actually see the movie that I’ve been waiting years to see over something that happened in the past this is ridiculous you know they’re crooks and killers that get forgive and forgot I swear to god if I don’t get a third jeepers creepers I’m gonna be pissed

    • Meisha’s Taint

Your are a one sick, shameless little shit Charlie. I’d take your picture off your profile pic If I were you that’s just stupid to admit that and show your face.

    • wehoaks

Your first concern should be with your English teachers and how they failed you.

  • Meisha’s Taint

    MOVIE

    • Nathan

Why not simply get another director? I, and many others would like to see this movie made.

      • Meisha’s Taint

Because people like you don’t care about whats right or wrong and will give them your money regardless. If you cared and were against a child rapist from still making movies they might actually get a new director. Sadly, people like you end your post with ” I want to see it ” as if that’s a valid point of some kind. So few people now days give a shit about what’s right or wrong it’s just about ” what they want.”

A child was raped and his life will never be the same….but what you care about is that you want to see a movie that lasts 1 1/2 hours. Fight for what’s right and then they will be forced to get a new director. I’ll buy 20 copies of the DVD if they get a new director. Till then FUCK THEM AND ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS CHILD RAPISTS

  • Meisha’s Taint

    THIS

I don’t actually understand why this is an issue NOW;the guy has somehow managed to cast and complete about half another dozen movies since he was released from prison in ’92.What exactly is the issue with him making another one in a series he did after all create?I am pretty sure everyone here has watched and loved those movies without the thought of what he did troubling their mind much and regardless of what one thinks of him as a person,he did serve his time and in as far as the law is concerned is a free man with all the rights that would entail.Given that no further incidents come to light it is pointless to debate this and if he is to be black listed, then it should’ve already happened a long time ago;all this belated controversy seems peculiarly manufactured and trite to me.
