Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman, Brenda James, Don Thompson, Haig Sutherland, and Jennifer Copping round out the cast next to Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker, Elizabeth Banks and Rheagan Wallace in James Gunn’s upcoming horror flick Slither, according to Moviehole.net. A creature feature in the vein of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” “Slither” revolves around an alien plague that infects a small town, setting a local (Rooker) on a murderous spree. Slither” director James Gunn tells Moviehole this morning that he has now filled all the supporting parts in his upcoming horror pic.
In addition to the headliners, there have been some more names cast including Brenda James, Don Thompson, Haig Sutherland, and Jennifer Copping.
Gunn’s former employee, Troma big-wig Lloyd Kaufman is also believed to be making an appearance in the film.
“I am overjoyed with the cast as we head into our third week. The special effects by Todd Masters are also incredible. It is a strange, scary, character-driven little horror film. We are trying to create a new animal, as far as horror flicks go”, says Gunn.
Brenda James recently starred in the Spielberg series “Taken”, playing Dr. Ellen Greenspan. She also appeared in genre efforts “The Attic Expeditions” and “The Dead Zone”.
Don Thompson also appeared in Spielberg’s “Taken”. His other credits include “Strange Frequency” and the episode of “Smallville” called “Tempest”.
Most will remember Haig Sutherland as Chloe’s Boy Thing in the episode of “Smallville” called “Rush”. His other credits include genre efforts “Riding the Bullet” and “Halloween Resurrection”.
