‘Home Alone’, ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Willy Wonka’ Get Horror-themed Posters!

ScreenJunkies – yes, the video hub behind the popular “Honest Trailers” series – is having a little Halloween fun.

We’re exclusively debuting a series of fun horror-themed posters created for classic non-genre children’s films including Home Alone, Willy Wonka, as well as a pair for Pixar’s Toy Story (“They’re always watching”).

The Home Alone one cracks me up because there’s some truth to the idea that the robbers end up in Kevin’s house, which becomes their worst nightmare.

Anyways, here’s the posters. Enjoy.

Yrs ago while doing press tour for another film one of the original guys who played the criminals (The tall one, his name escapes me) was asked about what he thought about all the sequels that were made and he said:

“Well technically I don’t see them as sequels just bad attempts at capturing what made the original film so great…you could consider them reboots or remakes, whatever they call it now. Which is sort of what we did with the second film (laughs).”

He was asked about a remake of the original film with the same characters and he said:

“I’ve always thought that the best way to reboot or remake Home Alone is to go the horror route. Bring us back, have Kevin hunting us down and us trying to defend ourselves against this now full grown Kevin who haunts our nightmares”

That was from one of those horror mags from about five years ago (fangoria or something like that) and if you look it up, they recently made a short film with Culkin reprising his character as did one of the villain characters. I think it’d be great for them to do something like that.

Hahahah I could totally envision this Willy Wonka horror movie

They’re not bad. Wonka’s could be a bit more subtle in its tagline.
