All the top Hollywood stars were on hand at the Golden Globes last night. But if I was given the chance to sit at anyone’s table, I’d totally be hanging with the cast of “Stranger Things.“
The hit Netflix series was nominated in two categories at the Golden Globes this year – Best TV Series (Drama) and Best Actress in a TV Series (Drama) – and though it sadly didn’t take home any awards, the show damn sure made an impression at the event. In fact, the cast’s brief appearance during the cold open is being touted as one of the standout highlights of the night.
Jimmy Fallon and a handful of celebs spoofed La La Land for the 74th annual gala’s opening sequence, which included a “Stranger Things”-inspired rap number performed by young stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin. “And I got a little secret, don’t repeat it or tweet it,” sang the coolest kids ever, “BARB IS STILL ALIVE!”
With that intro, Shannon Purser (as Barb) emerged from a swimming pool. Be still my heart.
Check out the “Stranger Things” portion of last night’s cold open below, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a poster for John Carpenter’s The Thing in the background!
