‘Phantasm’ 5-Film Blu-ray Box Set Coming Stateside in March!

It was promised. And it’s being delivered.

Last week, Arrow Video announced that they’d be bringing the entire Phantasm franchise to Blu-ray this coming April… in the United Kingdom. Of course, anyone with a Region Free player can get any release from around the world, but many fans were left wondering if the series would be getting a similar release in the United States. Today we’re happy to report that yes, it’s coming.

Well Go USA will be releasing the entire Phantasm collection on Blu-ray March 28th, which will mark the first time Phantasm 3: Lord of the Dead and Phantasm 4: Oblivion have ever been released on Blu-ray. The set, now available for pre-order with a price tag of $79.98, is a six-disc affair, and though we don’t yet have any images to share, we do have the first details.

Arrow’s release is gonna be sweet, sweet, sweeeeet!

  • Hell yes, I’ve been waiting for this! I have the Hellraiser Scarlet Box and Arrow did an exceptional job with it. This set looks just as good.

    • The Drucifer

The Scarlet Box would be perfect if it wasn’t for the third film, fucking turd that one is. It is a glorious set though. My wife gasped when she saw it. She loves the Hellraiser

      • Yeah, Hellraiser III isn’t my favorite, but there’s so many great things in the set, I looked at it as just another extra.

        • The Drucifer

It’s so bad…so,so bad. I wish they had included Bloodlines, at least that movie is bonkers and stupid in a gloriously watchable way.

          • Oh no, Bloodlines was way worse. It was campy trash. Everything after Hellbound was awful. The only thing Hellraiser III had going for it was a bit more mythology involving Spencer and Pinhead, but Pinhead as a slasher ruined everything.

          • The Drucifer

I kinda enjoy Bloodlines because it’s so stupid. The idea of the splitting of Spencer and Pinhead is a solid idea. Camerahead and CDhead is laughable. The acting is a fucking mess too. Everyone is terrible. Either over or under doing it. Half of them seemed ADR’d. It’s the poster child for 90’s horror.

            I

I actually enjoy the (definitely) flawed Hellraiser 3 – but it would have been awesome if they had included Bloodlines in the set too.
I suspect that they may release another box-set with some of the other movies included – hopefully with as much care attributed to it as the trilogy

I know in the US there is a blu-ray set (all the movies are on one side of a single disc) of Bloodlines and 3 other Hellraiser movies – I reckon I’ll end up picking that up, as it’s only around 6 quid – and, after a quick scan at my friends house yesterday, the print quality looks okay enough (all claimed to be 1080p) so it’s a bargain – sadly there are no extras, but 4 movies for 6 quid? I’m having that one.
I think the company who released it did a similar disc with some of the Children Of The Corn movies.

  • Yep.

Gonna have to get this! Wish it was bluray/DVD combo pack though but this is still too good to pass up

    PREORDERED BOOOOOYYY!!!!

  • TheHorrorNerd

I assume the Arrow version of Phantasm is not the 4k restoration?

Phantastic news! Great that Angus Scrimm did commentaries for 3 & 4. Looking forward to the Phantasmagoria doc and all the other extras featuring Don, Reggie and Michael.
